The Kingdom of Olbea and the Yourhaskae people of the bordering Koajia region have celebrated over 200 years of peace, allowing Prince Khalil and Asa’kalibasyed, second son of the Yourhaskae chief, to remain best friends even quickly approaching adulthood.
During a pleasure hunt, the two unexpectedly end up in Etrelbai, the land where spirits dwell and mortals are forbidden to enter. Resolving to find their way back and hope they survive long enough to do so, the two stumble upon an ancient ruin, finding nothing noteworthy inside except for a dagger planted atop a pedestal.
After finding their way back later, they discover the dagger is no ordinary blade, having the power to control any being it stabs like a puppet, and agree they should never use such a seemingly wicked device.
When the long-lived peace fails to last, however, and the far more equipped Kingdom of Olbea runs the threat of completely eradicating the Yourhaskae people, it is not a promise that Asa can keep if he hopes to keep his tribe from total decimation.
If his people stand a chance of surviving, he resolves he’ll have to use the dagger to turn the neutral guardian giants of the land to their favor to win the war against Olbea, but at what costs?
